We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Employee Benefits Compliance Coordinator to join our Phoenix-based team.
Position Overview:
The Compliance Coordinator will serve as a subject matter expert in health and welfare plan compliance. This role is responsible for managing regulatory documentation, coordinating communication with vendors and clients, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of compliance-related materials. The successful candidate will help maintain EBI's high service standards and protect client interests through up-to-date regulatory practices.
Key Responsibilities:
The role includes a blend of client and vendor communication, plan compliance oversight, technical compliance support, and client education. Responsibilities include drafting and distributing introductory compliance emails, maintaining vendor portals, updating distribution lists, and managing monthly compliance newsletters through platforms like Mailchimp. You'll also research compliance concerns, conduct audits of client health plans, develop and deliver ERISA documents, and complete annual compliance worksheets.
Additional duties include conducting Non-Discrimination Testing (NDT), supporting ACA filing and GAG attestation processes, assisting with affordability testing and contribution strategy, and facilitating CMS disclosure filings. You'll also help create Brainshark training modules, support appeals and claims issues, stay current with regulatory changes, and occasionally present during Open Enrollment meetings. Daily, you'll provide compliance, benefits, contract, and policy support to clients and internal teams.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. A minimum of three years in employee benefits compliance or a similar role is required, along with in-depth knowledge of ERISA, ACA, CMS, and HIPAA regulations. Experience with platforms like Mailchimp, Brainshark, and various vendor/carrier portals is preferred. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to explain complex concepts to clients and team members are essential for success in this role.
