ENGINEERING INTERN (1099 CONTRACTOR) - Build the Future of Garage Door Manufacturing

We’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented Engineering Intern (Independent Contractor / 1099) to join our manufacturing engineering team and make an immediate impact inside a fast-paced production environment.
This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with engineering, operations, inventory, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to improve the systems that keep our business moving.

As part of our engineering support team, you’ll get exposure to real manufacturing processes and business systems, including:
Bill of Materials (BOM) Management
- Maintain and update BOM structures
- Support day-to-day engineering data accuracy
- Troubleshoot BOM discrepancies
- Participate in weekly open order BOM reviews
- Support commercial and custom product configurations
- Assist with engineering changes tied to production demand
- Work directly with:
- Engineering
- Production
- Inventory
- Purchasing
- Operations teams
- Assist with backflush reconciliation
- Help align inventory and production transactions
- Support costing accuracy and purchasing data integrity
- Assist with configurator logic and backend data maintenance
- Support ERP/master data cleanup initiatives
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Help streamline engineering workflows
- Support documentation and data governance efforts
✅ Engineering student or recent graduate (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Systems, or similar)
✅ Strong Excel / data management skills
✅ Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
✅ Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
✅ Able to communicate effectively across departments
✅ Interest in ERP systems, BOM structures, product configuration, and manufacturing operations

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Location: On-site at our Tempe facility
1016 W Geneva Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282
Schedule: During standard office hours
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Compensation: $22.00/hour
Engagement Length: Initial 60-day assignment with weekly performance reviews Important Classification Note
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement , not a W-2 employment position.
Contractors are responsible for:
- Their own taxes
- Insurance
- Business expenses
- Equipment and related costs as applicable
This isn’t a theoretical internship.
You’ll work inside a live manufacturing operation, helping support the systems that drive product creation, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
