Medical Lab Technician/Scientist (MLT/MLS) - Full Time - Core Lab- 2nd Shift
SUMMARY:
Performs clinical laboratory tests and procedures to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school EXPERIENCE: Internship as a Medical Laboratory Technician, or equivalent experience in a clinical laboratory setting. LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Registered or registry eligible for MLT by ASCP, HEW, or AMT. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory protocols to follow to ensure tests and procedures are accurate.
- Skill in performing lab analyses and recognizing abnormal or unusual test results, then determining proper course of action.
- < > bility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw, interpret bar graphs, and apply basic algebraic concepts.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
