Healthcare Payment Positing Specialist

Pay: $29.28/hour

A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Healthcare Payment Positing Specialist for a high-priority opportunity supporting a fast-paced healthcare revenue cycle team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payment posting professional with a strong background in healthcare accounts receivable, remittance processing, and payment reconciliation.

Position Summary

The Healthcare Payment Positing Specialist will support the Cash Posting department and be responsible for accurate healthcare payment posting, reconciliation, and resolution of payment discrepancies. This role requires strong knowledge of both manual and electronic payment posting, payer guidelines, and revenue cycle processes.

Work Location

This opportunity can be based in either of the following locations:

• Phoenix, AZ – 2550 W. Union Hills Drive, Suite 200, Phoenix, AZ 85027
• Nashville, TN – 220 Athens Way, Suite 400, Nashville, TN 37228

Schedule

• Start time around 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM
• 8-hour shifts
• Hybrid work environment

Key Responsibilities

• Post healthcare payments accurately in both manual and electronic formats
• Interpret and apply EOBs, EFTs, ERAs, COB details, and 835 files
• Reconcile unapplied payments and research posting discrepancies
• Resolve complex denials and payment variances independently
• Allocate lump-sum payments across multiple patient accounts and dates of service
• Apply contractual adjustments, proration logic, and secondary/tertiary payment rules
• Collaborate with billers, collectors, and payers to ensure accurate account resolution
• Follow established workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement
• Work within EMR and payment posting systems to maintain accuracy and productivity

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare payment posting
• Strong understanding of:
• • EOBs, EFTs, ERAs, COB, and 835 interpretation
  • Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers’ Comp payer rules
  • Contractual adjustments and payment reconciliation
  • Denial resolution and unapplied cash research
• Experience using Interactant (HCS), WellSky , or similar EMR/payment posting systems
• Proficiency with Excel and reconciliation tools
• Familiarity with clearinghouses, payer portals, lockbox files, and batch posting environments
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in rehab, home health, or residential healthcare settings
• Exposure to payer audits and recoupments
• Basic understanding of contract modeling or reimbursement analytics
