JOB DESCRIPTION

Mobile Cardiovascular Sonographer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Mobile Cardiovascular Sonographer will provide direct care to patients in a residential, rehabilitation, and/or long-term care setting. Imaging exam types include but are not limited to Transthoracic Echocardiogram, Carotid Ultrasound, Upper and Lower Arterial Studies, Upper and Lower Venous Studies, Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound, and Renal Artery Studies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

2. Graduate from an accredited school of noninvasive cardiovascular technology/ultrasound OR three years of recent experience and at least 800 vascular procedures performed

3. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire

4. RVT or RVS certification or eligible for RVT or RVS certification and completion within 12 months of hire requested.

5. RCS certification or eligible for RCS certification and completion within 12 months of hire requested.

6. Required to have reliable transportation with active insurance coverage

7. Physically able to pick up and carry 30-40lbs

8. Recent experience as a Cardiovascular Sonographer preferred

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Works indoors with increased level of travel from scheduled locations

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

1. Supervised by: Lead Cardiovascular Sonographer

2. Workers Supervised: Not Applicable

RISK EXPOSURE:

Medium risk

LIFTING REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary:

• Ability to work for an extended period while sitting and/or being involved in physical activity.

• Moderate lifting.

• Must be able to lift and carry 30-40lbs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide direct care to patients in residential, rehabilitation, and long-term care settings.

2. Conducts testing under the indirect supervision of a vascular physician.

3. Positions patient to maximize effectiveness of image and minimize patient discomfort.

4. Adjusts equipment controls and modifies images during the exam to demonstrate anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and/or pathology accurately.

5. Operates equipment in M-Mode, 2D, Spectral Doppler, and Color Doppler techniques.

6. Prioritizes and Coordinates patient’s care and/or services with Team Members.

7. Able to work independently while managing time efficiently

8. Communicate professionally and effectively to patients and their care team as needed.

9. Participate in regulatory reviews, audits, and process improvement projects.

10. Work with the leadership team to mastermind ways to improve the quality of patient care and workflows.

11. And other tasks as delegated by Supervisor.
