Position: Paid Search Media StrategistLocation: Phoenix, Arizona (On-site 16th Street & Northern)
Status: Exempt

Education: BS in Marketing, Advertising or related field, and Three (3)+ years experience in agency digital media strategy and management required (experience with high-touch platforms like Google Ads, Pinterest, TikTok and others required. Experience with programmatic media and analytics/tracking is a plus)
The Paid Search Media Specialist/Strategist at Defero supports clients by developing, optimizing, analyzing, and communicating paid search strategies to meet client goals. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, as it focuses on executing client deliverables.
In a constantly evolving digital landscape, the Specialist/Strategist will continually refine their skills and adapt to industry changes. Responsibilities include developing and managing paid search campaigns, maintaining budget pacing, and providing performance analysis with actionable recommendations. You will also provide insights on campaign performance both regularly and on-demand, aligning results with client KPI’s across various channels.
Additionally, you will work to continuously expand your own personal knowledge of platform(s) (paid search) and earn identified certifications to more fully develop your own expertise into one of a true holistic marketing expert for the benefits of our clients and for our internal media team associates.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS:
- Maintains a high level of expertise across all paid search and related platforms.
- Digests, retains and shares the latest industry news and applies it to client projects as applicable.
- Produce high quality deliverables and analyses that wow our clients and always show the how, the why, and the what we are doing about it.
- Possesses the ability to understand and look at client goals and needs holistically and to then determine the suggested course of actions for campaigns given budgets and other implicative factors.
- Work effectively with client services and internal media team to establish strategic direction for accounts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
- Assist with mapping media budgets and re-flighting of media dollars as needed to achieve client business goals and revised strategic plans.
- Utilizes industry tools to build efficiencies into your work to help keep you focused on business outcomes, and constantly on the lookout for new strategic opportunities.
- Review monthly client performance reports recapping key insights and next steps.
- Assist the media team to communicate effectively with clients on stated high quality optimizations, deliverables and how the team is crushing it.
- Examines the details while not losing sight of the bigger picture.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required and 3+ years of digital media strategy experience across digital mediums.
- Past agency experience required.
- Google related certifications are a must.
- Ability to manage and optimize up to $500k in media spend across multiple accounts.
- Strong working knowledge of analytics and tracking (using GA4 & GTM, pixel setup and management, etc )
- Attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple clients, projects and tasks.
- You should be comfortable with establishing and following structured processes.
- You should possess the ability to work autonomously as needed, as well as collaborate within a larger team.
- High levels of self-motivation and proactive learning.
- Must be able to work with a sense of urgency and be able to easily adjust to revised priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess a natural curiosity about digital media – early adopters wanted.
