We are a growing residential homebuilder with a strong reputation for quality construction, operational excellence, and thoughtful community development. As we continue to expand across the Phoenix metropolitan area, we are seeking an experienced Vice President of Purchasing to lead strategic sourcing, trade partner relationships, and cost management.

Position Summary
The Vice President of Purchasing will oversee all procurement, trade contracting, and cost control functions for the organization. This executive leader will drive purchasing strategy, optimize vendor performance, and ensure competitive pricing while maintaining the quality and timelines required to support our homebuilding operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all purchasing and procurement operations for residential construction projects
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for labor, materials, and subcontracted trades
• Negotiate trade agreements and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Implement cost control initiatives to improve gross margin and maintain budget targets
• Oversee bid processes, vendor selection, and contract administration
• Collaborate with Construction, Land Development, Architecture, and Finance teams
• Analyze market pricing trends and manage material cost forecasting
• Ensure purchasing processes support cycle time, quality, and customer satisfaction goals
• Build and lead a high-performing purchasing team

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in residential homebuilding purchasing or procurement
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director or VP level preferred)
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and trade scopes
• Proven track record negotiating large trade contracts and managing vendor networks
• Experience managing budgets, cost controls, and margin performance
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred

Preferred Experience

• Production homebuilding experience in high-volume markets
• Experience managing purchasing across multiple communities or divisions
• Familiarity with construction management and ERP systems used in homebuilding
