Medical Assistant/Patient Service Specialist
- Provides exceptionally friendly customer service to every patient.
- Manages the office phone system: answering calls, transferring calls, and answering patients’ questions.
- Responsible for initial patient intake, including checking vital signs, establishing reason for visit, and ensuring patient's EMS information/notes are accurate.
- Collect co-payments from patients at check-in
- Working with insurance companies, obtaining referrals, prior authorizations, etc.
- Assisting with medical treatments and procedures as needed
- Following up with patients on test results, post-procedure instructions, etc.
- Ordering and managing office/clinical supplies.
- Assist with any miscellaneous tasks to ensure the practice is presentable to incoming patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred.
- Experience with EMS preferred.
- Able to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
