Water Distribution Operator I

Accountabilities
- Install, maintain, and repair water mains, service lines, fire hydrants, and valves
- Perform leak detection, flushing, and testing to ensure water quality and system efficiency
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and effectively
- Respond to water service issues, main breaks, and customer concerns in a timely manner
- Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Arizona Grade I Water Distribution Operator Certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
- Previous experience in water distribution, construction, or utility work
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
