Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and governance-driven Data Steward to support enterprise data quality, record retention, and regulatory compliance initiatives. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data integrity, policy adherence, and risk mitigation across key business processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Record Retention and Deletion policies , Data Governance frameworks, and Data Quality Management practices in regulated enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Compliance

Identify and assess Record Retention and Deletion policies , associated risks, and required controls.

Ensure compliance with enterprise data-related policies including Data Quality, Data Protection, Data Movement, Data Sharing, and Stewardship .

Serve as a policy expert for the business unit, educating teams on governance standards and regulatory implications.

Partner with Data Steward Manager to support and manage the data compliance roadmap .
Data Quality Management

Identify data quality issues and perform root cause analysis .

Drive remediation efforts for audit findings and regulatory feedback.

Monitor platform-wide data quality metrics , including Critical Data Elements (CDEs).

Communicate issues effectively and drive resolution across upstream and downstream stakeholders.
Risk & Regulatory Support

Support ongoing regulatory reporting requirements through collaboration with data providers and technology teams.

Ensure new use cases and data initiatives align with governance and compliance standards.

Contribute to strategic improvements in data assessment frameworks and analytical tools.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with product managers, business leaders, and technical teams to ensure governance alignment.

Influence cross-functional teams to adopt data governance best practices.

Provide systematic analysis to identify root causes and recommend tailored solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
-
Strong hands-on experience with Record Retention and Deletion policies (mandatory).

Solid understanding of Data Governance concepts including metadata, lineage, data quality, and data lifecycle management.

2-5 years of experience in Data Quality Management (DQM) .

Intermediate proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data analysis.

Familiarity with data architecture and data modeling concepts .

2-5 years of experience working in Agile or SAFe environments .

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in regulated industries (financial services preferred).

Familiarity with cloud data environments (Google Cloud Platform preferred).

Experience supporting enterprise-scale, service-oriented systems.
