Software QA Engineer

This is a full-time position to be worked on-site at our Tucson, Arizona office.

Job Summary:

As a Software QA Engineer, you will play a key role in improving product performance and ensuring the highest level of quality across our software solutions. Working within an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate closely with developers to identify bugs early and verify that the software meets end-user expectations. By simulating real-world workflows used by mining engineers, you’ll uncover defects, document issues, and suggest enhancements that directly contribute to a more robust and user-friendly product.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and run effective tests to ensure product’s stability and performance.


• Test newly developed software, features, and record any bugs or performance issues.


• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.


• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities.


• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.


• Perform thorough regression testing when changes are made to the software, and when new versions of the product are developed.


• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.


• Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.


• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.


• Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.


• Other duties as required.

Requirements:

• College or University degree (plus if engineering, math or mining-related)


• Experience in quality engineering in software


• Experience in an agile system


• High level of competency with Excel and Word


• Proficient skills in geometry and trigonometry


• Proven record of attention to detail, logical reasoning, and ability to think abstractly


• Proven ability to interact within a team
