Job Title: Vice President of Operations

Summary:
The VP of Operations oversees all day-to-day field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget and schedule. This role provides leadership to the field, estimating, and project management teams while upholding Patriot Boiler’s high standards of quality and performance. The VP of Operations serves as a key leader, coach, and mentor, ensuring effective coordination across Project Managers, Foremen/Superintendents, and senior leadership. This position is responsible for maintaining operational excellence and ensuring all work aligns with company expectations and core values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each of the primary duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
1. Drive ideas and initiatives for growth, profitability and customer retention.
- Lead, manage, and develop the Estimating/Project Management team, Field Supervisors, Operations Manager, and support staff.
- Review and approve customer quotes to ensure accuracy, profitability, and operational feasibility.
- Oversee all Patriot projects—including scheduled service, maintenance, and installations—from planning through completion, ensuring readiness, alignment with expectations, and adherence to budgets and company core values.
- Monitor scheduled jobs, proactively identifying and resolving risks or issues with staffing and backlog of work.
- Provide accurate job cost reports for completed projects.
7. Respond to customer escalations and ensure constant communication is being facilitated.
- Lead meetings and hold team accountable to the project completion needs.
- Oversee R Stamp and other certification processes, ensuring full compliance with required standards and audits.
- Partner with the CEO and Field Supervisor to ensure safety leadership and compliance across all field operations.
- Work within the company software platform to maintain oversight, visibility, and serve as a backstop for supporting roles when needed.
- Review and approve customer invoices for accuracy and billing compliance.
- Approve vendor payments, verifying correct taxes, job association, and documentation.
- Participate in leadership team discussions and contribute to strategic operational decisions.
- Share responsibility for after-hours phone coverage and job scheduling.
16. Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.
17. Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors.
18. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in boilers or customer service preferred.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
5. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook plus BuildOps or related software.
8. Professional and friendly demeanor, willing to go above and beyond to accomplish the mission.
9. Ability to work under pressure and constantly make correct decisions with limited input and determine when to escalate issues.
10. Ability to critically think and solve problems.
11. Must be self-motivated and punctual.
12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
13. Demonstrate ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions.
14. Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff.
Physical Demands:
1. Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual activity.
2. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds).
