Associate Accountant

About This Team and Role

Verra Mobility is hiring an Associate Accountant. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for managing full-cycle accounts payable process, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities with the business unit.

What You'll Do

Accounts Payable

• 
  
  
  
  • Process and verify all vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and documentation.
  
  
  • Prepare and execute weekly and bi-weekly payment runs (ACH, check, wire, etc.).
  
  
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  
  
  • Review and transact employee T&E expense, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
  
  
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice or payment inquiries.
  
  
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in payables operations.
  
  
  • Take part in any additional accounting, finance, or cross-departmental projects as required.
  
  

General Accounting

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  
  
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements monthly.
  
  
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  
  
  • Support financial reporting and analysis for management.
  
  
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide required documentation.
  
  

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in accounting strongly preferred


• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience


• Experience performing accounts payable and month-end close duties


• Familiarity with MS Excel and use of formulas


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people cross-functionally
