As a Lead HVAC/R Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of high-performance HVAC systems across commercial sites. You will perform maintenance, repair, and optimization of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, ensuring energy savings and system longevity. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. You will support a growing team, share best practices, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives. Flexibility to respond to emergency service calls and the ability to work independently in the field are key aspects of this position. Your contributions will directly impact operational efficiency and sustainability outcomes for the sites you serve.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

• Maintain, repair, and optimize HVAC/R systems to ensure consistent, efficient operation across all sites in your area.
• Perform commissioning checks, including mechanical inspections and RTU controller configuration adjustments.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and identify potential maintenance risks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, belt inspections, and other mechanical upkeep.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls, including nights and weekends, performing repairs efficiently and safely.
• Keep detailed logs and records in the company work order system.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, OSHA standards, and internal service guidelines.
• Support customers with queries and provide technical guidance to enhance satisfaction.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• 5+ years of experience as a service technician on HVAC/R systems.
• EPA Certification (required).
• Experience with HVAC controls; familiarity with Lennox Core and Carrier SystemVu controllers is a plus.
• Strong ability to identify control and mechanical issues proactively.
• Commitment to customer service and workplace safety.
• Willingness to travel within Tucson, AZ, and surrounding areas.
• Flexibility to work weekends and be on-call, including nights.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to learn continuously and grow professionally within the HVAC/R field.
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively across teams.
