General Maintenance Worker
General Maintenance Worker- Yuma Proving Ground, AZ
EMI Services is looking for a General Maintenance Worker for the plumbing shop. The General Maintenance Worker (GMW) performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of duties.
Salary
$30..95/ hr. plus $10.00 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Responsibilities
- Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
- Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
- Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
- Painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
- Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
- Hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes
- Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Performing simple maintenance duties not requiring practical skill and knowledge of a trade (e.g., changing light bulbs and replacing faucet washers)
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
- Basic ability to use and knowledge of all tools and equipment that are used by the crafts
- Ability to assist work of the craft in a rapid and efficient manner under extreme conditions
- Ability to perform work safely under hazardous conditions
- Basic knowledge of craft theory and craft materials with the ability to apply the theory and select the proper materials
- Must have the ability to operate various types of equipment for the trade i.e. forklifts, scissor/man lifts, bobcat backhoe etc.
- Must be able to learn and operate any industrial size tools to complete all tasks i.e. table saws, band saws, planers, sanders and routers
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license without special restrictions
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Regular, dependable attendance
- U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be capable of lifting 75 lbs. unassisted

Preferred Qualifications
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
- Basic plumbing maintenance experience
- Concrete form setting and finishing abilities
- Able to work with different electrical voltages
