What You'll Own

• Lead DO-254 planning and development activities across the hardware lifecycle, including Design Assurance Level (DAL) management.
• Drive rigor in requirements, verification, traceability, configuration management, and certification readiness aligned to DO-254 and related aerospace/defense standards.
• Author and curate technical documentation: white papers, test plans, procedures, and formal test reports.
• Collaborate with project systems engineering to interpret, manage, and maintain customer requirements.
• Ensure adherence to applicable industry standards and organizational quality processes.
• Contribute to adjacent disciplines as needed; additional tasks may be assigned based on program demands.

Preferred Cross-Discipline Strength

• 3D modeling, mechanical design, and structural analysis experience is a plus.

Your Background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field strongly preferred.
• 3+ years in systems engineering or a closely related engineering role.
• Working knowledge of MIL and DO standards.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and gather/source input for high-quality technical documentation.
• Familiarity with I/O definitions and equipment interface requirements.
• Broad exposure to digital and analog electronics and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot circuits when necessary.
• Outstanding problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Comfort engaging with management, program managers/directors, and customers.
• Military service or government contracting experience is preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance is required.

A Day in the Role

Start by aligning with systems engineering on updated customer requirements, then shape the DO-254 compliance plan for a new hardware baseline. You’ll coordinate DAL strategy, guide verification artifacts, and review configuration changes to maintain end-to-end traceability. In the afternoon, you’ll co-author a test plan, analyze lab results, and brief stakeholders—translating technical decisions into clear, actionable next steps.
