Job Summary & Responsibilities

Onto Innovation's 4D Technology location in Tucson, AZ is currently looking for a motivated software engineer with experience in image processing or robotics. 4D is looking for a software engineer that will come on board and grow their skills while also raising the skill level of their teammates. Our team strives to bring SOLID principles to life. Be a part of a team singularly focused on software craftsmanship. Become a member of this team delivering internationally recognized, innovative metrology products. Our projects include cutting edge automation, new forms of image acquisition, and revolutionary data processing.

The essential responsibilities of this key position are:

• Ensuring our focus on software craftsmanship
• Enhancing and maintaining our core metrology applications (C#, WPF, C/C++)
• Creating & documenting new data analyses, algorithms, and GUI's
• Initiates the design, development, execution, and implementation of software-based technology research projects.
• Investigates the feasibility of innovative concepts, potential inventions, and product offerings.
• Works within the PLC process to plan and deliver advanced research software solutions to the software department.
• Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art software, image processing, and process principles and theories.
• Contributes to scientific literature, conferences, and patent/trade secret efforts.

Qualifications

Our team needs your enthusiasm and dedication to help us grow. We require a B.S. degree or higher in Engineering, Physics or Computer Science. The following skills and traits are highly desirable:

• Experience with C, C++, C#, Java, or other object oriented language
• Solid knowledge of object oriented software design
• 2+ years of practical work experience in engineering
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Analyzes and distills complex information
• First-rate software debugging skillset
• Excellent at problem solving
• Works well with a diverse team of engineers
• Background in image processing and associated tools
• Experience with robots and robot programming

Compensation & Growth

Base Salary Range:

$66,080.00 - $99,120.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
