Sr. Tax Analyst - Federal Compliance

Title: Sr. Tax Analyst - Federal Compliance
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85004 (Hybrid)
Salary: $100,000 - $115,000

Several hundred employees work from the Phoenix headquarters, where the tax department manages U.S. federal compliance for a large consolidated C-corp group. The Senior Tax Analyst will support federal tax return preparation, tax technology, SOX controls, and IRS audit documentation within a fast-moving corporate tax environment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Compile data and prepare the consolidated U.S. federal corporate income tax return using CorpTax applications
• Prepare federal returns for non-consolidated entities and reconcile filings to public financial statements
• Support tax technical research, tax technology improvements, and process design initiatives
• Maintain tax department applications and databases while implementing SOX controls tied to federal return preparation
• Provide documentation and support for IRS audit requests and other federal compliance requirements

What You Need for This Position

• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field with 4+ years of hands-on U.S. federal corporate income tax compliance experience for a consolidated C-corp group, or 2+ years in Big 4 tax with direct federal compliance experience
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. income tax rules and corporate consolidations
• Experience preparing federal returns in CorpTax or a comparable enterprise tax compliance system
• Experience with ASC 740 (provision, deferreds, uncertain tax positions) strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft tools including SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
• Experience using BNA, RIA, CCH, and other tax research platforms
• Preferred exposure to SAP, OneStream, Alteryx, Business Objects, Power Query, Power BI, and advanced credentials such as CPA or a masters degree
