Maintenance Manager
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Compensation: $100,000 – $140,000 base salary
Reports to: Plant or Operations Manager
Direct Reports: Five maintenance technicians/specialists
Our client, a well-established consumer goods manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee plant maintenance operations and drive reliability across all production equipment. This individual will lead a team of five, manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, partner cross-functionally with production and engineering, and lead process improvements that enhance uptime, safety, and efficiency.
This is an on-site leadership role within a high-volume manufacturing environment offering stability, team development, and opportunities for long-term growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a small team of maintenance technicians, providing clear objectives, coaching, and performance feedback.
Manage preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling, execution, and documentation to minimize downtime.
Respond to breakdowns and ensure timely corrective actions through root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
Maintain and improve the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for accurate work order tracking, parts management, and KPI reporting.
Partner with production, engineering, and quality to coordinate installations, upgrades, and changeovers.
Oversee maintenance budget planning, spare parts inventory, and vendor support.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
Lead continuous improvement and reliability initiatives (Lean, TPM, 5S).
Track and report on key maintenance KPIs such as equipment uptime, PM compliance, and maintenance cost per production hour.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Broad technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; exposure to PLC/automation is preferred.
Experience managing PM programs and using CMMS systems.
Proven success in equipment reliability, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Comfortable working on the production floor and being on-call for critical issues when needed.

On-site in a production facility setting. The role involves walking, standing, and working near moving machinery, with occasional weekend or off-shift support for major repairs or shutdowns.
