Maintenance Manager

Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Compensation: $100,000 – $140,000 base salary
Reports to: Plant or Operations Manager
Direct Reports: Five maintenance technicians/specialists

Our client, a well-established consumer goods manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee plant maintenance operations and drive reliability across all production equipment. This individual will lead a team of five, manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, partner cross-functionally with production and engineering, and lead process improvements that enhance uptime, safety, and efficiency.

This is an on-site leadership role within a high-volume manufacturing environment offering stability, team development, and opportunities for long-term growth.

• Lead and develop a small team of maintenance technicians, providing clear objectives, coaching, and performance feedback.

• Manage preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling, execution, and documentation to minimize downtime.

• Respond to breakdowns and ensure timely corrective actions through root cause analysis and long-term solutions.

• Maintain and improve the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for accurate work order tracking, parts management, and KPI reporting.

• Partner with production, engineering, and quality to coordinate installations, upgrades, and changeovers.

• Oversee maintenance budget planning, spare parts inventory, and vendor support.

• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.

• Lead continuous improvement and reliability initiatives (Lean, TPM, 5S).

• Track and report on key maintenance KPIs such as equipment uptime, PM compliance, and maintenance cost per production hour.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

• Broad technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; exposure to PLC/automation is preferred.

• Experience managing PM programs and using CMMS systems.

• Proven success in equipment reliability, root cause analysis, and process improvement.

• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Comfortable working on the production floor and being on-call for critical issues when needed.

On-site in a production facility setting. The role involves walking, standing, and working near moving machinery, with occasional weekend or off-shift support for major repairs or shutdowns.
