Accountant Supervisor
Schedule: Mon-Fri (Hybrid schedule after training)
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing accounting functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in support of the various business entities. This position would be Supervising 2 team members in the accounting department. The position reports to the Controller. All employees are responsible for supporting the company's goals and mission and following all company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participates in maintenance of the general ledger and financial accounting systems.
Monthly reconciliation and balancing of bank accounts.
Reconciles deposits and revenue distribution between corporate entities.
Applies accounting principles to accounts payable and cash control functions.
5. Produce and enter monthly journal entries for multiple companies.
6. Oversee check printing.
7. Manipulates raw financial data to create meaningful operating reports.
8. Manages payroll reports and payments for various corporate divisions.
9. Ensures the integrity of accounting information by properly verifying, preparing and recording transactions.
10. Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
11 Monitors and reports variances in financial positions.
12. Saturday availability on occasion is necessary
13. The job may entail occasional additional hours during the work week
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Generates custom spreadsheets and analysis as requested to enhance standard financial reporting.
Participates in accounts payable processes.
Participates in the generation of monthly financial statements.
Participates in monthly and annual closing processes.
Assists with pension plan maintenance, distribution, and regulatory compliance.
Assists with benefit support functions.
High accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Organization, time management, coordination, and research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting with 5+ years of industry experience minimum. The position requires competency in the use of a personal computer, calculator, scanner, and printer. The position requires experience with Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets. The position requires experience with ERP accounting systems, preferably NetSuite. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and diverse priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines are required. The position requires the ability to handle highly confidential information. The position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment. Saturday availability on occasion is necessary. The job may entail occasional additional hours during the work week weekends.
