SVS Group currently has a full time temp/hire opportunity for a Senior Accountant with one of our clients in the Mesa AZ area.

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records and reporting. This position is responsible for managing key components of the monthly close process, performing account reconciliations, assisting with audit preparation, and supporting process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong in GAAP, and eager to grow into a leadership path within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-End Close & Reporting

• Prepare and record journal entries for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, and other key accounts.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and variance analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review financial data for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Operational Accounting

• Maintain detailed schedules for key balance sheet accounts (fixed assets, leases, debt, etc.).
• Process and review transactions in areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll as needed to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Audit, Compliance & Internal Controls

• Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal control policies, and company accounting procedures.
• Assist in the implementation and documentation of accounting policies and process improvements.
• Identify and help correct control gaps or inefficiencies in financial workflows.

Financial Analysis & Projects

• Support management in analyzing financial results, trends, and performance metrics.
• Assist in developing and implementing new accounting systems, ERP upgrades, or process automation initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in Quickbooks or Ramp a plus
