About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Kitchen Hood Technician to take charge of ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency for kitchen ventilation systems in commercial and industrial settings. In this leadership role, you will oversee the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of kitchen hood fire suppression systems while guiding and mentoring a skilled team of technicians.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Inspire – Supervise and mentor technicians, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and teamwork.

• Hands-On Expertise – Install, inspect, service, and repair kitchen hood fire suppression systems , ensuring compliance with local and national safety codes.

• Stay Ahead of Issues – Perform regular system inspections, troubleshoot problems, and recommend improvements to maintain top performance.

• Customer Collaboration – Partner with clients to understand their needs and deliver customized, reliable solutions.

• Life Safety Integration – Support related Life Safety systems including fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and backflow testing.

• Detailed Documentation – Maintain accurate inspection and service reports using iPad and computer-based systems.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in kitchen hood fire suppression inspections and repairs

• Expertise with systems such as Ansul, Range Guard, Kitchen Knight, CaptiveAire

• NICET and/or CSA certification (required)

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• Ability to work night shifts and after-hours inspections when required

• Proficiency with iPads/computer reporting systems and willingness to learn new platforms

• Must pass a background check

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety
