We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accounting Analyst to support project reconciliation, financial analysis, compliance review, and funding closeout activities. This role is responsible for analyzing project costs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and federal regulations, processing adjustments, and supporting project funding reconciliation activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, accounting knowledge, and the ability to interpret financial and contract data within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile and close projects to ensure timely release of funding
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable federal regulations
• Analyze, validate, and reconcile project-related financial data and costs
• Review and interpret contract documents, project funding records, and financial transactions
• Research project accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution and process improvement
• Process accounting adjustments and prepare final financial documentation and voucher submissions
• Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, and local government entities regarding project funding activities
• Support audits, financial reviews, and compliance reporting requirements
• Maintain accurate project accounting documentation and financial records
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and financial systems to track, analyze, and report financial data
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field
• Minimum 1 year of accounting or financial analysis experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience analyzing and interpreting contract and financial data
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with project accounting or grant accounting
• Experience supporting government or federally funded projects
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards
• Experience preparing financial reconciliations and project closeouts
