Trauma Surgery NP/PA

**Job Summary and Responsibilities** We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. You will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and high-quality care to critically injured patients . + Provide care to general surgery and trauma patients at level 1 trauma hospital. + 12 hour shifts to support mix of day and night coverage. + Provide coverage to a 24 hour/7 day a week service line. + Obtain pertinent medical history and appropriate physical exams. + Orders and interprets pertinent lab and/or xray studies and conveys information to attending physicians. + Document all patient care within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete all necessary tasks in compliance with health system policies and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate billing. + Counsels patients on pre and post-operative care, post-trauma care, recovery and expectations. + Rounding with residents/students. + Occasionally assist surgeons by providing first assistant surgical services + Assists attending surgeons in hospital by making patient rounds, recording pertinent information in the patient's medical record + Prescribes medications within scope of practice and Arizona law + Performs bedside procedures within scope of practice and delineation of privileges + Keep medical knowledge and skills current through regular CME activity + Maintain appropriate licensure required for role and active privileges at hospital + Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the health system's corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner + Performs other duties as assigned **Job Requirements** PA Requirements: + Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) + Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program + Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant. + Valid DEA registration. + Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff NP Requirements: + Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) + Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners + Compact state or Arizona RN license + Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license + Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.) NP-AANP, c.) NP-ANCC + Valid DEA registration + Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff **Where You'll Work** Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed provider group of Dignity Health Arizona.
