Financial Controller

Location: Phoenix, AZ (onsite)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Basic Function:
The Financial Controller is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Excellent skills using MS Word, Excel, QuickBooks.
• Knowledgeable with online payroll systems such as EPAY, ADP, etc.
• Collecting debts.
• Communicating with debtors and other interested parties.
• Additional Accounting duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; five or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language and Mathematical Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints. Effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or Executive Team.
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts for all bookkeeping, payroll, budgets, statistical analysis, and probability statements. The Financial Controller must use the utmost discretion in all presentations/correspondence and communication for staff and Executive Team.
