Lead Host- The Mission Old Town

As the Lead Host, you are the warm welcome and fond farewell for every guest who walks through our doors. You set the tone for the entire dining experience with a genuine smile, polished professionalism, and an enthusiasm for creating memorable moments. In addition to greeting guests, you will guide and support our host team, ensuring smooth front desk operations, efficient seating, and a hospitality-first culture that leaves every guest feeling valued and cared for.

Responsibilities

• Greet each guest warmly and sincerely, ensuring they feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.
• Lead and support the host team in delivering consistent, top-tier hospitality.
• Manage reservations and waitlists using OpenTable to optimize seating and guest flow.
• Maintain accurate wait times and communicate them clearly and courteously to guests.
• Coordinate with servers, management, and the kitchen to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
• Handle VIPs, special occasions, and guest concerns with grace and professionalism.
• Train, mentor, and inspire the host team to embody our hospitality standards.
• Keep the host stand organized, polished, and ready for service at all times.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of prior host experience required (upscale or fine dining strongly preferred).
• OpenTable experience required — must be confident and efficient in using the platform.
• Enthusiastic, kind, and genuinely friendly disposition — a natural people-person.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time.
• Comfortable walking quickly throughout the dining room and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
