ROLE OVERVIEW

Packagers and Sorters within the Shipping team are responsible for sorting and packing to ensure that Railcraft standards are met by providing customers with specific requests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive orders from Lead based on employee’s area of focus (e.g. small parts, lengths, posts, custom orders, etc.)

• Conduct quality check based on quantity, colour, angle, measurement; communicate results to Lead

• Coordinate the building of non-traditional loads, observing regulatory limitations on stack height and length.

• Wrap product and place in storage

• Stamp / sign off on documentation and provide to Shipping Manager

• Ensure work area is clean to ensure the safety of staff

• Perform visual inspections and identifies material discrepancies on all orders leaving the warehouse.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related shipping or delegated duties as needed

• Responsible for safeguarding all company confidential information obtained in connection with employment whether oral, written or electronic which shall include all information which has been specifically designated as confidential by the employer in a manner which ensures confidentiality as outlined in Railcraft USA. Confidentiality Policy.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures and business code of ethics.

• Responsible to ensure behavior is respectful of all employees of Railcraft USA. and adheres to a respectful workplace that follows policies harassment and discrimination as set out in Railcraft USA. policies.

• Responsible to follow established Occupational Health and Safety procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/KPI ’S

• Ensure all product is packaged and labelled correctly 100% of all orders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Strong communication skills with the ability to speak and write English efficiently and effectively

• Basic English skills (reading, writing and speaking)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

• Willingness and ability to work hard physically; stand for most of day

• Ability to lift/move approximately 50 pounds on a consistent ongoing basis.

• Ability to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and occasional climbing.

• Frequent push/pull movement

• Must be able to work independently as well as a part of a team

• Reliable and punctual to work every day

• Willingness to work overtime on short notice and as required.

• Attention to detail, pride in workmanship and problem-solving skills

• Follow instructions and work with minimal supervision

• Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math skills

• Understand procedures and transactions as they pertain to shipping and receiving both manufactured and purchased materials.

• Willingness to be accountable for delivery results and accuracy as it relates to customer satisfaction

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals and local and international shipping requirements and regulations.

• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.

• Comprehension of quality control and passion for quality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

• Forklift experience and/or license

• Experience in other areas of the shop (e.g. cutting, welding)

• Construction experience
