The primary function of this position is to design, implement, provide support, and maintain the CICD, infrastructure as Code patterns, and hybrid cloud environments consisting of AWS, Azure, and VMware. Secondary responsibilities include basic server OS maintenance and support. The chosen candidate will play an integral role in the IT department's overall cloud-first strategy by implementing new, and migrating existing, application services into Amazon Web Services. Collaborating with development and infrastructure teams, this is a dynamic role contributing significantly to the overall system resiliency and availability goals while increasing software development efficiency through automating builds, deployments, testing, and recovery, of application services developed in .net / C#, JavaScript technologies (Angular), and Python. This role will also contribute to evolving the existing processes and documentation in the areas of CICD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and more.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely, efficiently, and professionally, with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders including internal customers, development teams, project management office, cybersecurity, compliance, service desk, and others to define, implement, and support DevOps and Cloud related services.
  • Evaluate and recommend process, methods, products, and tools in support of the role's primary purpose.
  • Leverage AI technologies to manage and secure the infrastructure
  • Implement CICD pipelines in support of IT Application / Service Delivery projects.
  • Integrate security best practices with all aspects of Cloud and DevOps processes.
  • Maintain the CICD ecosystem including patching and upgrading key components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues or inefficiencies within the role's realm of responsibility, including participating in providing expertise to peer teams when issues or outages occur.
  • Occasionally work after-hours to perform maintenance and critical deployments where customer impact must be kept to a minimum (infrequent, but does occur)
  • Be on call for after hours support on matters associated with CICD, the AWS ecosystem, and other infrastructure support needs, based on a rotation, typically once every 5-6 weeks
  • Participate, recommend, and take action where cost can be reduced relative to Amazon Web Services and other expenses.
  • Evolve the monitoring and resiliency capabilities for all infrastructure supporting IT developed applications and services through the use the appropriate tools and infrastructure as code.
  • Function as primary point of contact for all things CICD, Cloud Compute, and other associated components.
  • Coordinate support and maintenance activities related to the CICD and DevOps technology areas of responsibility.
  • Escalates urgent and complicated support issues and security matters, appropriately.
  • Train, coach, and mentor other IT staff on basic aspects of Cloud, AWS, CICD, and DeepSpeaq 2.0

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years experience as a DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Development engineer
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services – EC2, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM,
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code such as CloudFormation and Terraform
  • Experience with VMware / vSphere
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with Jenkins, Git, and Jira
  • Experience with Python, basics of building C# and .net applications
  • Basic experience supporting database/document db environments – Postgres, MS SQL, Mongo
  • Experience working within agile practices
  • Knowledge of ITIL foundational principles
  • Solid powershell and linux bash shell skills
  • Experience in basic Networking principles, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.

Able to persuade, influence and negotiate with staff and vendors in critical situations. Able to motivate others and work cooperatively in a group to achieve common goals.
  • Physical: Able to sit at a desk and grasp writing instruments. Able to manipulate fingers to perform keyboard strokes on a computer. Mobile between buildings. Must also be able to lift 40lbs without issue and move it from under a desk to a cart and vice versa.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Office 365 Experience
  • Advanced knowledge, and ability to manage / implement, Information Security Principles
  • Knowledgeable about ITIL processes including incident management, configuration management, problem management.
  • Experience using an IT ticketing system
  • Willingness to work at our Corporate office in Chandler, AZ up to 1x per month
