What You Will Do:
Trico Electric Cooperative is seeking a highly analytical, strategic, and forward-thinking Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Cooperative's financial health, long-term sustainability, and strategic objectives by providing expert analysis, forecasting, financial planning, and decision support.
The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a trusted partner to leadership by transforming complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that inform business decisions, strengthen financial stewardship, and support exceptional service to our members. This role also leverages emerging technologies, including advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance forecasting accuracy, reporting capabilities, and organizational effectiveness.
Key duties and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities to support the Cooperative's strategic and operational objectives.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-range financial forecasts to support business planning, capital investments, and organizational growth.
- Support cost-of-service studies, rate analyses, and financial sustainability initiatives to ensure competitive and responsible member rates.
- Evaluate power supply costs, capital projects, and business initiatives to assess financial impacts and support informed decision-making.
- Prepare executive and Board-level financial reports, presentations, and dashboards that translate complex financial information into actionable insights.
- Assist with financing activities, debt management, lender reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements while ensuring sound financial stewardship.
- Leverage data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve forecasting accuracy, financial reporting, operational efficiency, and decision support.
- Partner with leaders across the Cooperative to provide financial guidance, support strategic initiatives, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promote responsible use of technology and artificial intelligence by validating outputs, protecting sensitive information, maintaining data integrity, and supporting innovation across financial processes.
What You Bring to Trico
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, or related fields.
- Experience developing financial models and analyzing complex financial data.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the electric utility, cooperative, energy, or regulated industry environment is preferred
- Experience utilizing business intelligence, data analytics, Power BI, Copilot, or AI-enabled financial tools.
