Quality Engineer

Job Title: Quality Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Heat Treatment Quality Manager to oversee aerospace heat treatment processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and AMS 2750. This role involves hands-on management of vacuum heat treating, solution treating, and other thermal processes for aerospace alloys. The successful candidate will lead quality audits, supervise technicians, and drive continuous improvement using tools like FMEA, SPC, and CAPA. Experience in metallurgy and quality systems is essential, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Responsibilities + Oversee aerospace heat treatment processes to ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and AMS 2750 standards. + Lead quality audits and supervise technicians. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as FMEA, SPC, and CAPA. + Interpret technical drawings and specifications. + Ensure quality begins with management principles and is completed with meticulous quality assurance. + Uphold strict quality standards and ensure on-time delivery. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline. + Certification or training in AS9100, NADCAP, and AMS 2750. + 5+ years of hands-on experience with aerospace heat treatment processes. + 3+ years in a quality assurance leadership role within an AS9100- or NADCAP-certified aerospace environment. + Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA, PPAP, and ERP software. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and charting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Additional qualifications in CQI-9, ISO 9001, or Six Sigma. + Lead Auditor certification (AS9100 or ISO 9001) is a plus. + Familiarity with aerospace alloys like titanium, Inconel, aluminum, and stainless steels. + Experience in failure analysis and microstructure evaluation techniques. Work Environment The role is based near Shamrock Foods at a manufacturing facility in East Phoenix. The work environment includes state-of-the-art technology to achieve and measure exact dimensional tolerances. The successful candidate should be willing to support second/third shifts or weekend audits as needed. U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required for ITAR/EAR compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, Arizona. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
