Human Resources Generalist -Bilingual
- Supports employee relations by addressing concerns, assisting with conflict resolution, and promoting a positive work environment.
- Create disciplinary documents and issues them in alignment with the Head of HR and Plant Manager.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assists with the recruitment and interview process including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Tracks candidate background checks, drug screen status, and responds with follow-up emails.
- Conducts new hire orientation and completes Form I-9 and E-Verify to maintain compliance.
- Serves as the liaison between the payroll department and employees to process paperwork for all employee changes, new hires, terminations, change in title, pay, department, etc.
- Completes employment verifications.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Assists with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Process and respond in a timely manner to Unemployment Insurance and Worker’s Compensation claims.
- Serves as the point of contact for all leave inquiries, including FMLA, short-term disability, and other medical or personal leave types. Tracks and monitors leave balances, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting.
- Conducts exit interviews and process terminations.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
- Makes photocopies, sends mail, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Collaborates with the Plant and Safety Managers and is comfortable in a blue-collar setting interacting with employees on the plant manufacturing floor.
- Serves as Secretary in the Safety Committee, supports workplace safety programs and helps maintain a safe, inclusive work environment.
- Participates in HR-related audits, reporting, and special projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in human resources, with knowledge of HR laws, practices, and procedures.
- Must be bilingual, English/Spanish
- Experience in payroll and data entry strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with ADP payroll software or related HRIS system.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
