Truck Driver Position at Equipment Rental Company

Job Summary:
As a CDL driver, you will deliver and pick up a variety of construction equipment, specifically heavy equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders and water trucks, along with tools and supplies from different types of jobsites. This role will require the candidate to generally drive a Class A vehicle hauling equipment on a Tractor Trailer (beavertail) in a variety of conditions, including urban, suburban, and rural settings. Priority and ability to drive safely in construction zones and tight area settings. This position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate tractor trailer vehicle, along with numerous types of construction equipment.
- Transport equipment in a timely and secure manner while following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Ability to recognize items on the tractor trailer that might need attention to maintain a safe operating vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatcher and team members to coordinate deliveries.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Skills:
- Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Valid Driver's license with CDL License and acceptable drivers record.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks to maintain a safe vehicle.
- Ability to handle various types of equipment and securely chaining to the tractor trailer.
- Ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle at job sites.

The physical demands of this position require bending, squatting, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more and working outside. Along with driving a tractor trailer, there are also miscellaneous, incidental or similar duties which may be required from day to day that will also be part of the responsibility of a CDL Driver.
