Project Director

Position Summary:

The Commercial Roofing Project Director is responsible for leading and managing all phases of large-scale commercial roofing projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role involves overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, driving operational efficiency, maintaining client satisfaction, and leading project teams to achieve company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Execution

• Direct and manage all aspects of commercial roofing projects from contract award through closeout.

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.

• Ensure strict compliance with building codes, safety standards (OSHA), and contractual requirements.

• Identify, address, and mitigate risks to prevent delays or cost overruns.

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety performance.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and support project managers, site supervisors, and field crews across multiple projects.

• Implement best practices for project management, safety, and quality control.

• Collaborate with estimating, procurement, and operations teams to optimize project delivery.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for key commercial clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, architects, and suppliers.

• Participate in contract negotiations, scope reviews, and pre-construction planning.

Strategic & Operational Contributions

• Analyze project performance and implement process improvements to enhance profitability and efficiency.

• Support business development by assisting with bid strategy, presentations, and client meetings.

• Drive company objectives for safety, quality, and operational excellence across all projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).

• 8+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial roofing projects, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

• In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, Built-Up, Metal, etc.).

• Strong financial management skills with a track record of delivering projects on budget.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.

• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• OSHA 30 certification (preferred) and commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel to job sites as needed, including accessing roof areas and working in various weather conditions.
