About the Role:
The Grants Associate plays a vital role in securing and managing funding that sustains and grows programs to Feed, Clothe, House and Heal hundreds of thousands of individuals each year. The work is meaningful, complex and deeply impactful.
This position calls for someone who is detail-oriented and enjoys writing, critical thinking, collaboration, project management, donor relationships, and deadlines. You will support front-line programs that change lives; work alongside passionate and talented colleagues; and help translate real-world impact into compelling, funder-ready narratives and reports.

Core Responsibilities:
The Grants Associate supports the full grant lifecycle, from prospect research and proposal development through reporting and stewardship:
- Prepare, write and submit high-quality grant proposals, Letters of Intent and reports, on deadline
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic program narratives, budgets and outcomes
- Manage awarded grants, including tracking deadlines, compliance requirements, reports, meetings and other deliverables
- Assist with internal data collection for proposal inputs and program outcome reporting
- Maintain organized and transparent records of proposals, awards, reporting schedules and funder communications
- Support relationship building with funders through accurate reporting, stewardship and responsiveness
- Assist in refining internal systems and processes related to grant tracking and documentation
- Craft personalized donor gift acknowledgment letters for awarded grants
- Research, identify and prospect grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, marketing, English or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in writing, marketing, and/or grants
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to communicate persuasively, clearly and strategically to diverse audiences
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Strong understanding of narrative storytelling grounded in logic, credibility and emotional resonance
- Experience working with budgets and collaborating cross-departmentally with finance, program teams and others
- High level of accountability, ownership and follow-through
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit development
- Experience with corporate, foundation and/or government grant writing and management
- Marketing, communications or branding experience
- Experience using CRM systems (SalesForce), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT) and Adobe (PDF)
- Comfort working in complex organizations with multiple programs and funding streams

Hybrid Work Environment
You are always welcome to work on campus. While getting familiar with SVdP programs and people, the expectation is that the Grant Associate will spend 3-4 days/week onsite, growing into 2-3 days/week.
