Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for conducting maintenance and repairs on AIS Infrastructure's construction and industrial equipment. The project covers about 70 linear miles, so this person will work in Wellton, AZ some days and in Lukeville, AZ as needed. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation and optimal performance of the equipment. The Mechanic must possess a strong knowledge of mechanical systems and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on construction and industrial equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to identify and address potential issues before they cause equipment failure.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system problems.
- Replace faulty parts and components, ensuring proper installation and calibration.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.
Requirements and Education:
- Class B or class A CDL.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in the construction or industrial sector.
- Knowledge of construction equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
- Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools and software.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail in performing inspections and repairs.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Customer service skills when interacting with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and deadlines.
- Handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
- Adapt to changing priorities and work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Requirements and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Certification or training in mechanical or automotive technology is preferred.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and computerized systems is a plus.
