Carrier Relations Manager

As a Carrier Relations Manager, you will be responsible for finding new carriers to join our network that meet our high standards. We expect you to analyze our current carriers’ needs and ensure we are providing them with the right freight mix to maximize their productivity. You will also promote the use of our private equipment to improve tracking and encouraging carriers to get EDI connectivity with Forrest Logistics.

Your Impact:

• Facilitate seamless communication across all teams within the organization, potential and current partner motor carriers, and appropriate vendors, using your expertise and Forrest’s values to drive decision making.
• Address and resolve carrier relations issues spanning all departments, fostering a cohesive work environment.
• Act as a resource and subject matter expert, fielding questions and leading teaching opportunities.
• Properly vet potential and current partner motor carriers, limiting Forrest’s risk exposure.
• Accurately maintain and audit partner carrier driver and truck databases.
• Strategize, execute, and improve carrier relations initiatives aligned with our business goals.
• Champion and nurture our company culture.
• Ensure compliance and keep abreast of industry updates.
• Maintain meticulous record keeping and attention to detail

Qualifications We Value:

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with FMCSA and carrier vetting platforms.
• Strong knowledge in vetting carriers and what to look for in good partners.
• Previous experience in transportation and/or knowledge of DOT regulations and process a plus.
• Exceptional multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative communicator with a knack for relationship building.
• Ownership mindset and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Experience in working with bonded cargo and freight claims
• Ability to design and implement new processes and improvements to existing ones.
