ABOUT Hermosa

Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

The Role

As an electrician your primary responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and productive work environment, assisting, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical, electronic and instrumentation systems. This role will work a rotating schedule. This role is based at the Hermosa Project site, near Patagonia, Arizona.

Individual Accountabilities:

Highly skilled workers in the electrical craft. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the removal, repair, installation, troubleshooting, & diagnosis of electrical systems. Employee may mentor or train other electrical employees. Employee will work under minimal supervision where the primary objective is safe production.

• Removal, repair, installation, troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical systems for process optimization.
• Ability to perform installations and renovations compliant with regulatory agency standards.
• Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities, always uses plant and equipment correctly.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in industrial electrical repair and maintenance; OR
• Associate degree or Trade School Certification in the related field and two (2) years’ experience performing maintenance and repair of electrical systems.
• Experience working with low and medium voltages.
• Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
• Experience with AC and/or DC controls
• Electrical license/MSHA Electrical Certification Electrical license/MSHA Certification.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, interacting with diverse functional and cultural backgrounds.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Strong planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
• Must be able to work 12 hours rotating shifts, including a combination of nights, days, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with programmable logic controls (PLC), motor controls circuits, instrumentation installation & calibration.
• Completion of an approved certified program for instrumentation/control system, electronics, & electrical; OR
• Electrical license/MSHA Electrical Certification Electrical license/MSHA Certification.
