About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Fullstack Engineer to lead the design and development of mission-critical systems that power intelligent bypass decisions for commercial truckers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex distributed environments, is fluent in a variety of database technologies, and has deep expertise in building scalable single-page web applications (SPAs). You’ll be blending real-time road safety data into actionable insights that impact drivers, enforcement officers, and other stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Architect and build scalable, performant single-page web applications using modern frameworks (React preferred).
- Design and implement distributed systems that ingest and process real-time data from internal and external sources.
- Lead the development of RESTful APIs and event-driven systems for high-throughput, low-latency decision-making.
System Reliability & Innovation
- Own the scalability and reliability of systems that support bypass transaction lifecycles.
- Drive innovation in real-time alerting systems that enhance road safety and efficiency.
- Ensure systems meet compliance, security, and performance standards.
Mentorship & Collaboration
- Mentor engineers across teams and promote engineering best practices.
- Contribute to technical strategy and long-term architectural planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, data, and operations.
Required
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or staff-level role.
- Proven expertise in building and scaling single-page web applications (React preferred).
- Deep experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Expertise in relational, document, and columnar database technologies.
- Strong experience with RESTful API design and consumption.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also acceptable), Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with real-time data processing tools (e.g., Kafka, MQTT, Azure Event Hub).
Preferred
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or IoT systems.
- Background in data fusion or multi-source analytics.
- Experience implementing anomaly detection using AI or other methods.
- Hands-on with MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL Server, Elasticsearch, CosmosDB, Redis.
- Multi-cloud expertise (AWS & Azure).
- Experience with data warehousing and analytics tools (Snowflake, MS Fabric, Power BI).
Bonus Points For
- Experience in the transportation industry.
- Building Federated API layers (GraphQL or similar).
- Working in regulated environments with security and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with Python and Django.
