Fabricator-Welder

Competitive Pay: This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $28.00/hr. to $32.00/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do:

• Read basic shop sketches, drawings and blueprints
• Interpret difficult isometric drawings and blueprints accurately
• Layout and fit up components per drawings and specifications with minimal supervision
• Pipe fit-up and fabrication of simple and complex systems
• Weld with all sizes of wire and electrodes
• Set up and operate electric and engine-driven welding equipment
  • oxygen acetylene cutting equipment
  • operate hand-held plasma-cutting equipment
• Operate rigging equipment and perform simple to complex rigging operations small and large
• Be able to identify different filler materials and uses
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.

 

What You'll Need:

• 3-5yrs experience required of fabrication skills with structural and pipe shapes
• MSHA certification a plus
• Stick, MIG and TIG welding experience
• 6G qualifications preferred and must be proficient in acquiring D1.1 certification upon hire
• Experience with overhead cranes operation a plus
• Experience with the use of mobile cranes and crane signaling a plus
• Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or constant loud noise
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 60%) of job
• Work environment can involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, dependable, and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a repair shop environment.
