ABOUT Hermosa
Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Human Resource Business Partner you will serve as a strategic Human Resource partner to site leadership, delivering people solutions that support business objectives and employee success. This role provides guidance across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, talent development, organizational design, and change management. The successful candidate will coach leaders, support a positive workplace culture, drive employee engagement initiatives, and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies. This position is site-based and follows a 4/10 work schedule (four 10-hour days per week)
Key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Partner with leaders to support workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
- Provide expert guidance on employee and industrial relations matters, investigations, and performance management.
- Coach and influence leaders to make sound people decisions and manage change effectively.
- Support organizational design, role evaluation, compensation alignment, and HR programs.
- Analyze workforce trends and metrics to identify opportunities and implement solutions.
- Promote employee engagement, cultural initiatives, and South32 values.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to ensure consistency and best practices across the organization.
- Lead or support organizational development and change management initiatives.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive Human Resource experience, preferably within mining, heavy industry, operations, or major capital project environments.
- Experience in employee and industrial relations, including investigations and conflict resolution.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and influence leaders and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with change management and organizational development initiatives.
- Ability to support a dynamic 24/7 operational environment.
