Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in a 22-bed private room unit
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks (Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday coverage based on unit requirements
• Must have Level 1 Trauma experience
• Recent med/surg experience required; charge nurse and telemetry experience preferred
• No first-time travelers accepted
• BLS certification required
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Required to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail)
• Must maintain sterile field competency
• Care for patients with post-op conditions, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infections
• Titrate Heparin drips (no cardiac drips)
• Float to other med/surg/tele units as needed (travelers float first)
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation with preceptor
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Natural hair color and no facial piercings required
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit test
• Must have own vehicle
• Chart using Cerner system
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
