Travel RN Job Details – Tucson, AZ

• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract
• Location: Tucson, Arizona 85712
• Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery (L&D) Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2130 - $2190
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (approx. 4 shifts per month)
• Float Requirement: May float to related units based on census
• Orientation: 36 hours, multiple start dates available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Arizona RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (completed within last 2 years)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Supervisory reference required
• Applicants must reside outside a 75-mile radius of Tucson, AZ

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a clinical setting
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and antepartum/postpartum care
• Monitor fetal heart rates using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and respond to abnormal patterns
• Administer medications and therapies, including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives
• Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new parents
• Perform patient assessments, documentation, and education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, radiology, social services)
• Float to related hospital units as required by patient census
