Resting at 7,000 feet and surrounded by the San Francisco Peaks, the scenic city of Flagstaff remains an important distribution site for large manufacturers like Nestl Purina. Just a stone's throw from downtown, where the city's culture comes to life, we get to experience the best of both worlds: the city and the mountains. Annually, the Nestl Purina team in Flagstaff proudly mass manufactures 280,000 tons of dry pet food from our Dog Chow, Beneful, Nestl Purina ONE, Alpo, and Pro Plan brands. Our factory is also proud to do our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.
As the Production Supervisor, you'll provide leadership and guidance to associates to ensure safety, quality, and service/zero waste goals are achieved. By serving as a team leader and problem solver, you'll drive Continuous Improvement efforts across the plant, making a positive impact on your peers and the company. We'll count on you to manage shift operations, supervising, and directing production while coaching and developing your team members.
- Direct supervision of hourly employees, providing flexible support across first, second, and third shifts as needed to support team and business needs.
- Setting work schedule for hourly employees including timekeeping responsibilities, vacation coverage, and overtime coverage.
- Assist in leading and developing continuous improvement projects to achieve factory results.
- Ensure products are produced in compliance with quality key check points and within good manufacturing practices.
- Provide a safe working environment for employees by building a strong safety culture.
- Support development and coaching of employees.
- Communicate the production activities to the other production supervisors and to the leadership team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment
- 2+ years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment
The approximate pay range for this position is $66,000 to $106,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
