Duties

Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.

Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.

Utilize proper animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of pets during grooming sessions.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area and equipment.

Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any health concerns observed during grooming.

Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing their inquiries or concerns.

Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and best practices within the industry.

Skills

Proficient in pet grooming techniques for various breeds.

Experience in dog training is a plus, enhancing the ability to handle pets effectively.

Strong animal restraint skills to ensure safety during grooming processes.

Knowledge of dog handling practices to promote comfort for pets in a grooming setting.

Familiarity with kennel operations and animal care standards.

Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in animal handling is advantageous.

Ability to work with equine may be beneficial depending on client needs.

Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with pet owners.
